The WSSD is being organised in two parts:

Global Forum of the World Summit on Sustainable Development:

The Global Forum is being organised by the South African NGO Coalition (SANGOCO) through the WSSD Secretariat.

Dates :
Pre-Summit :	19 August 2002 - 23 August 2002
Opening Ceremony :	23 August 2002
Global Forum :	26 August 2002 - 4 September 2002

Venue:	The Johannesburg Expo Centre (Nasrec)
Expected:	Civil Society delegates.

World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD)

The UN Summit is being organised by the Johannesburg Summit Company (JOWSCO) which was created for this purpose. (Click here for more information on JOWSCO.)

Summit :	26 August 2002 - 4 September 2002

Venue:	Sandton Convention Centre, Sandton, Johannesburg
Expected:	Heads of state, representatives of business, diplomats and civil servants.
